Learn About Our Church’s Beliefs and Mission
I. INSPIRATION
“We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the verbally inspired Word of God. These sixty-six books, the complete and divine revelation of God to Man, are inerrant, infallible, and God-breathed in the original writings, and therefore are the supreme and final authority for faith and life.” 2 Timothy 3:16, 17; 2 Peter 1:20-21.
II. THE TRINITY
“We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit: three in one, coequal in power and glory, coeternal in being, coidentical in nature, and having the same attributes and perfections, which is the Trinity.” 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2; John 1:1; Acts 5:3-4.
III. THE INCARNATION
“We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary.” Galatians 4:4-5; Matthew 1:18-25
IV. THE HOLY SPIRIT
“We believe that the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity, convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgement. He is the life of every believer, and He empowers the preaching and teaching of the Gospel.” John 16:7-11
V. MAN
“We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, that he sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death, but spiritual death, which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and those who reach moral responsibility become sinners in thought, word, and deed.” Romans 3:23; Galatians 3:22.
VI. THE ATONEMENT
“We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and all who believe in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood.” 2 Corinthians 5:14-21; Romans 5:1.
VII. THE RAPTURE AND THE SECOND COMING
“We believe in the pre-tribulational rapture of the Church and the visible, personal and pre-millennial return of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Matthew 25:31-46.
VIII. SALVATION
“We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and, thereby, they become children of God and heirs of eternal life. This is a relationship in which they are eternally secure.” Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:12; John 10:28-30.
IX. THE FUTURE STATE
“We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost in Hell, and the everlasting blessedness of the saved in Heaven.” 1 Corinthians 15:51-58; Matthew 13:36-43.
X. THE DEVIL
“We believe in the existence of a personal devil (Satan) who is still working in the world to destroy the souls of men, and that he and all his angels and all who receive not Christ as their Savior will eternally perish in the Lake of Fire.” Matthew 4:1-11; Revelation 20:10.
XI. THE CHURCH
“We believe in the Church, the Body of Christ, whose mission is to preach the Gospel to all the world, all of its endeavors being supported by God’s financial plan of the tithes and offerings.” Ephesians 5:23-32; Mark 16:15-16; 2 Chronicles 31:12; 2 Corinthians 9:6-8.
XII. THE ORDINANCES
“We believe that the ordinances given to the Church by our Lord are baptism (by immersion following conversion) and communion (The Lord’s Supper).” Matthew 28:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-30.
We believe that all the foregoing are Bible doctrines. Therefore, we stand firm in this declaration of our faith.
XIII. LAWSUITS BETWEEN BELIEVERS
“We believe that Christians are prohibited from bringing civil lawsuits against other Christians or the church to resolve personal disputes.” 1 Corinthians 6:1-8; Ephesians 4:31-32.
“We believe that the church possesses all the resources necessary to resolve personal disputes between members. We do believe, however, that a Christian may seek compensation for injuries from another Christian’s insurance company, as long as the claim is pursued without malice or slander.”
XIV. OUR OBJECTIVES
“Our desire as a church is to promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet both the practical and spiritual needs of our community. We are ministering in the area of evangelism and are a training ground for Christians to increase their knowledge of God’s Word, and His will in their lives. We, as a church, believe that the family unit should have its foundation in the fundamental truths of God’s Word. We are expecting these objectives to broaden and expand, as we are open to the vision that God has given us, that vision being, reconciling man to God through Jesus Christ, His Son.” 2 Corinthians 5:14-21.
XV. RECONCILIATION
“It is God’s will, as found in 1 Timothy 2:3-4, that all men be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. Man is sinful by nature, and sin separates him from God. But God loved this world so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to die for our sins, that we may receive forgiveness and the promise of eternal life.” John 3:16.
